Sense and Sensibility

Over the last week I have been reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I didn't think I would get very far with it but I'm about a 10th of the way through it. This is the first Jane Austen novel I have ever read.

It is not the kind of book I would like to read all the time, but it is a nice book. My favorite characters in Sense and Sensibility would have to be Colonel Branden and Elinor Dashwood. I like Colonel Branden because he is so kind to the Dashwoods, especially Marianne Dashwood, but he is kind to everyone. And of course Elinor Dashwood being the main character who couldn't like her, but I like her because she is very sensible.

But I also love Edward Ferrars who is not at like his brother, sister or his mother who are all very rich and proud. They were all expecting Edward to marry a girl with great fortune and they were also expecting great thing from him. But when Edward met Elinor he fell in love with but being engaged to anther lady he could not marry but they do end up getting married in the end which is all that matters.

By the way Grace - Lorna Doone was written by R.D. Blackmore, not Elizabeth Gaskell. :-)

Grace - remind me to help you install Statcounter on your blog sometime today.

Thanks Editrix

I thought Lorna Doone was written by
Elizabeth Gaskell and I couldn't find the
book to check. I will change it now.

This is exciting. What about a good Western yarn next time?
